Hail and wind damage
Storm damage inspections with photos you can use.
After hail or a big wind, we inspect the roof, gutters, vents and siding edges, then send a dated photo report that shows exactly what we found, and what we didn't.
What the inspection covers
- Each slope checked for hail bruising, cracked shingles and granule loss
- Soft metals (vents, flashing, gutters) checked for dents, which show storm size
- Ridge, edges and hips checked for lifted or creased shingles after wind
- Attic checked for new leaks or daylight
- Test squares marked and photographed the way insurance adjusters document them
What you get afterwards
A written report with dated photos, a plain-English summary and, if there is damage, a repair or replacement estimate. You decide whether to file a claim.
If there is no real damage, the report says that too. That is worth knowing before you file.
How it works with insurance
Your insurer decides what is covered. Our job is to give both of you clear evidence.
Inspect and document
We inspect within a few days of your call and send the photo report.
You decide on a claim
If you file, you talk to your insurer. We don't file claims or sign anything on your behalf.
Adjuster visit
If you want us there, we meet the adjuster on the roof and point out what we photographed.
Storm damage questions
How soon after a hail storm should I get an inspection?
Within a few weeks is ideal, while the damage is fresh and easy to date. Many policies also set a time limit for reporting storm damage, so check yours.
Should I trust a roofer who knocks on my door after a storm?
Be careful. Ask for a local address, check that they are registered as a contractor in Idaho, and never sign anything that hands your insurance claim to them. A good roofer is fine with you getting a second opinion.
Is small hail enough to damage a roof?
It depends on the size of the hail, the wind behind it and the age of the shingles. Dented gutters and vents are a good sign the hail was big enough to check the roof.
