Roof repair

Roof repairs that find where the water really gets in.

A stain on the ceiling is rarely right under the hole. We trace the leak from the attic and the roof, fix the cause and show you photos of both.

Repairs we do most

Missing or lifted shingles

Wind lifts shingles along edges and ridges. We replace them and re-seal the surrounding tabs so the next gust doesn't take more.

Pipe boots and vents

Rubber boots around plumbing vents crack in strong sun. It is one of the most common leak sources and a quick fix.

Chimney and wall flashing

Old flashing smeared with caulk eventually fails. We cut in new step and counter flashing instead of adding more caulk.

Skylights

Leaks around skylights usually come from the flashing kit, not the glass. We reflash, or replace the unit if the seal has failed.

Ice dam damage

After a hard winter we repair damaged shingles and decking at the eaves and look at why the dam formed in the first place.

Emergency tarping

If water is coming in, we tarp the area to stop more damage and come back for the proper repair on a dry day.

Repair, or replace?

We will tell you honestly. If a repair buys you several good years, we recommend the repair.

  • Every repair visit comes with photos of the problem and the fix
  • If the rest of the roof is near the end of its life, we say so in writing
  • You get a repair price and, where it makes sense, a replacement price, side by side

Roof repair questions

Big storm? See hail and wind inspections.

My ceiling has a water stain. Is it the roof?

Often, but not always. Bathroom fans venting into the attic and condensation on cold nails can also cause stains in Eastern Idaho winters. We check the attic first, so you don't pay for a roof repair that won't fix it.

How quickly can you come out for a leak?

Active leaks get priority. Call rather than booking online, and we will tell you honestly when a crew can be there and whether a tarp is needed first.

Can you match my existing shingles?

We match as closely as current products allow and show you the sample first. Older discontinued colors may look slightly different until they weather in.
