Cost and estimates
How much does a new roof cost in Idaho Falls?
It depends on the size and pitch of the roof, how many layers come off, the material you choose and how much decking needs replacing. That's why every estimate is written after an inspection and itemized line by line, so you can see where the money goes.
Is the inspection free?
On a real site this answer states the business's actual policy. For this concept site: inspections for repair and replacement estimates are booked online or by phone, and the price, if any, is confirmed before the visit.
Do you offer financing?
A real roofer would answer this with their actual financing partner and terms, or say plainly that they don't offer it. We don't invent offers on concept sites.
Weather and timing
What causes ice dams, and how do I stop them?
Heat escaping into the attic melts snow on the upper roof; the water runs down and refreezes at the cold eaves, backing up under the shingles. The fix is a cold attic: better insulation, sealed air leaks and balanced ventilation, plus ice and water shield at the eaves as a backstop.
What is the best time of year to replace a roof here?
Late spring through early fall, when shingles seal well in the warmth. Book early: after a spring hail season the schedule fills quickly.
Should I rake snow off my roof?
Clearing the first few feet above the eaves with a roof rake from the ground can help prevent ice dams. Please don't climb onto a snowy roof; it's one of the most dangerous jobs in winter.
Materials, insurance and warranty
Shingles or metal: which is better for Eastern Idaho?
Both work well. Architectural shingles cost less and suit most homes. Metal costs more but sheds snow, handles wind and lasts longer. The metal roofing page explains when it is worth the extra.
Will my insurance pay for a new roof?
Only your insurer can say. Policies usually cover sudden storm damage, not age and wear. Our storm inspection report shows clearly which you have.
What warranty comes with a new roof?
There are two: the manufacturer's warranty on the materials and the roofer's warranty on the workmanship. A real client site states both exactly as written in their contract.
